Abstract

This article discusses productive waqf as an innovation in the management of waqf assets aimed at enhancing the sustainable economic and social benefits for the Muslim community. One emerging form is cash waqf, which allows broader community participation without requiring ownership of fixed assets. This study adopts a library research approach by reviewing literature, regulations, and practical implementations of productive waqf in Indonesia. The findings indicate that productive waqf management requires a professional managerial approach, including planning, organizing, implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluation. Although it is supported by legal frameworks such as Law No. 41 of 2004 on Waqf and Government Regulation No. 42 of 2006, the implementation of productive waqf still faces several challenges. These include low waqf literacy among the public, limited capacity of n??ir (waqf managers), and weak coordination among related institutions. To optimize productive waqf as an instrument for empowering the Muslim economy, institutional strengthening, the use of digital technology, and integrated policy support are necessary. Collaboration between the government, waqf institutions, and society is essential for the effective implementation of productive waqf in Indonesia.
