FOCUS AND SCOPE

Al-Afaq: Journal of Ilmu Falak and Astronomy welcomes full research articles in the field of astronomy, specifically related to the study of the Qibla direction, Hisab, Rukyah, and other aspects of Islamic astronomy. The journal focuses on the following main topics:
(1) Qibla Direction Determination
(2) Hisab and Rukyah
(3) Observasi Hilal
(4) Calendar System and Timekeeping
(5) Digital Falakiyah
(6) Eclipses and Celestial Events
(7) Islamic Cosmology and Philosophy of Astronomy
(8) Instrumentasi Falak
(9) Legal and Religious Perspectives on Astronomy

Authors are invited to submit original research articles that have not been published previously and are not under consideration elsewhere.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

Al-Afaq is published twice a year, in June and December.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

After the article passes the plagiarism-checking stage, each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent referees (double-blind) who are experts in the subject area. Whether the article is accepted or not will be discussed with the editorial board. Plagiarism checking is done using Turnitin.
