Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to Al-Ihkam: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Ahwal al-Syakhshiyyah Fakultas Syariah IAIN Mataram should adhere to the Author Guidelines. Submissions that do not meet the required format, fail to fulfil submission criteria, indicate potential publication malpractice, or have download issues may be returned to the authors without undergoing a scientific review.
All submissions must be the original and independent work of the authors. The Principal Editor reviews each new submission to ensure it fits within the scope of Al-Ihkam: Jurnal Hukum Keluarga Ahwal al-Syakhshiyyah Fakultas Syariah IAIN Mataram. Manuscripts may be rejected without peer review if they lack sufficient content, exceed the word limit, are incorrectly formatted, are poorly presented, or show signs of plagiarism. Manuscripts that pass this initial screening are assigned to the Principal Editor or an Associate Editor, who manages the review process to evaluate the contribution, originality, relevance, and clarity of the submission.
If a manuscript passes the initial assessment, it is then sent to two independent experts for a double-blind peer review. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential (the editor removes the author’s name before assigning the manuscript to reviewers). Peer review comments remain confidential and are only shared with the reviewer’s explicit consent. All manuscripts undergo peer review, and authors can expect a decision or an explanation for any delays within two months of submission. If revisions are requested, the corresponding author should submit the revised manuscript within two weeks. The final decision on publication rests with the Principal Editors, who base their judgment on the feedback gathered during the peer-review process.
As outlined in our publication ethics, we ensure that all manuscripts under review are treated with strict confidentiality before publication.
