Among the 21 first-year junior high school students, 52% did not achieve this standard. To address this issue, remedial activities were conducted to ensure all students could meet the learning targets. This research aims to improve Arabic language learning outcomes through a remedial teaching method that combines group and individual tasks. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to detail the implementation and results of the remedial activities. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and analysis of student scores before and after the remedial activities. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes following the remedial activities. The graduation rate increased from 48% to 85%, and the number of students who did not pass decreased from 11 to 3. This demonstrates that the remedial teaching method is effective in helping students achieve the graduation standard. In conclusion, combining group and individual tasks in remedial teaching can significantly enhance students' Arabic learning outcomes and overcome learning obstacles. This research contributes to developing more effective Arabic teaching strategies in Islamic boarding schools and other educational institutions.
Arifdo Putra, Mahyudin Ritonga, Rahmawati Rahmawati Copyright (c) 2024 El-Tsaqafah : Jurnal Jurusan PBA https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/10877 Tue, 29 Oct 2024 00:00:00 +0000 HARMONIC RESONANCE: AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF PHONOLOGY IN SURAH AL-LAIL, UNVEILING POETIC SOUND HARMONY AND ITS IMPACT https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/9931
The Qur'an is the holy book of the Islamic Ummah which contains various features apart from the contents in it, the Al-Qur'an is also composed with beautiful and harmonious strands of verse, the purpose of this discussion is to dig deeper into the The specialty of the Qur'an in terms of its sound harmony, this discussion uses the literature study method with qualitative research studies and This data analysis technique is descriptive research which describes various data or problems and is then analyzed using a phonological approach on each word element in the verse in the form of vowels, consonants and the structure of these sounds. However, learning Arabic at this school faces challenges, notably students’ limited grasp of the lessons. Furthermore, teachers continue to employ direct methods, resulting in monotonous Arabic language learning activities at these schools, ultimately leading to student disengagement and boredom. Based on the mentioned issues, this research aims to assess the impact of adopting the Round Table Learning model on the Arabic language learning achievements of the 10th-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Magetan. This quantitative study uses a true experimental design, specifically a control group design, where the experimental and control groups are randomly selected from the population. The study involves 40 participants, divided equally between the experimental group (20 students) and the control group (20 students), out of a total population of 238 students. Researchers utilized data collection methods, including observation, interviews, tests, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the t-test (independent samples t-test) due to its normality and homogeneity. The findings from Arabic language learning using the Round Table learning model in class indicate that H0 is rejected and H is accepted; this shows the statistical results of the t-test based on SPSS 25, namely 0.001 < 0.05. Therefore, we conclude that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it is said that there is a difference between the learning outcomes of Arabic language subjects in the experimental class and the control class.
Arina Dienana, Isnaeni Khoirul Bariyyah, Bening Anjaswara, Mad ‘Ali Copyright (c) 2024 El-Tsaqafah : Jurnal Jurusan PBA https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/10173 Sat, 09 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 ANALISIS LATIHAN DAN EVALUASI BUKU BAHASA ARAB KURIKULUM 2013 MTS KELAS VIII BERDASARKAN PRESPEKTIF RUSYDHI AHMAD THU’AIMAH https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/11434
This study aims to assess the relevance of exercises and evaluation in the Bahasa Arab book for the 2013 Curriculum of Grade VIII MTs, based on the perspective of Rusydhi Ahmad Thu’aimah. In this study, the researcher uses qualitative research and a descriptive content analysis method. The data collection technique was carried out through document study, where the researcher reviewed and analyzed the content of the Bahasa Arab book used in Grade VIII MTs to determine whether the elements of exercises and evaluation align with the theory proposed by Rusydhi Ahmad Thu’aimah. The results of the study show that the three elements of exercises and evaluation according to Rusydhi Ahmad Thu’aimah (1989) have been fully met in the Bahasa Arab book for the 2013 Curriculum of Grade VIII MTs. These three elements are language exercises, independent learning, and tests and evaluation. In terms of language exercises, the book provides various activities that focus on language skills, such as exercises in understanding sentence structure, vocabulary usage, and applying Arabic grammar rules in appropriate contexts. These exercises are designed to enhance students’ ability to communicate both orally and in writing. In the element of independent learning, the book provides students with opportunities to learn independently through various activities, such as individual tasks, practice questions, and reflection. The presented material encourages students to actively seek information and practice without fully relying on the teacher’s guidance, thereby fostering greater independence in learning. In the element of tests and evaluation, the book includes assessments that are appropriate to the students’ level of understanding, with formative and summative tests to measure students’ competency achievements. These evaluations are not limited to knowledge alone, but also assess the language skills acquired by students throughout the learning process. Tests are given at the end of each lesson, while evaluations are conducted every three lessons.
Ajeng Euis Tiandini, Tubagus Kesa Purwasandy, Danang Dwi Basuki Copyright (c) 2024 El-Tsaqafah : Jurnal Jurusan PBA https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/11434 Tue, 12 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 TATHWIR AL LU’BAH “BRAIN’S ADVENTURE” LI TANMIYATI DZAKIROH QOSHIROTUL MADAY LADAY THULLAB FI TA’LIM ALAROBIYYAH https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/11312
It turns out that the phenomenon in teaching Arabic is that students' thinking skills are still low. This phenomenon is evident in the number of students who give wrong answers to Arabic language questions that require deep thinking during Arabic language teaching. This is not consistent with the current curriculum that requires students to develop their mentality, specifically to think either critically or creatively. This phenomenon indicates that the level of thinking skills, especially in short-term memory, among students is still low. Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop the game "Brain Adventure" to develop short-term memory among students in teaching Arabic to sixth grade primary school students. The method used in this research is developmental research with the ADDIE development model. This model is implemented in several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The researchers focused on the first four stages. The results of this research are: the first stage of this research is the analysis of the curricula, the analysis of the materials, and the analysis of the students' memory abilities. The second stage is the design of questions and materials according to the curriculum. The third stage is the development of the game using the adventure model. The fourth stage is the implementation, which includes testing the material experts and educational media experts before implementing the developed game on small topics. As for the results of the questionnaire, the level of feasibility of the adventure game from the experts falls into the value "very good". This indicates that this game is suitable for use in teaching the Arabic language as a teaching tool to develop short-term memory in students.
Lailatul Qomariyah, Isniyatun Niswah Mz, Abdul Qodir, Mu’at Mu’at, Iva Inyatul Ilahiyah, Luthfi Hakim, Nur Kuswanti Copyright (c) 2024 El-Tsaqafah : Jurnal Jurusan PBA https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/11312 Wed, 20 Nov 2024 00:00:00 +0000 TAWZIF ALMASADIR ARRAQMIAT FI TA’LIM AL'ADAB AL’ARABII LINNAATIQIN BIGHAIRIL ARABIAH https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/11660
This study presents an attempt to employ digital resources in teaching Arabic literature to non-Arabic speakers, as it seeks to demonstrate the importance of these resources and their role in enhancing the learning of Arabic literature through the capabilities offered by them that were not available in paper sources and traditional methods in teaching Arabic literature, especially for non-Arab students. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the types of illocutionary speech acts used in the speech based on John Searle's speech act theory. This research is important because it provides an in-depth understanding of how language is used in the context of conflict to achieve various communicative goals, as well as being a reference for the pragmatic linguistic study of John Searle's speech act theory as a language capable of producing action and providing additional information about the development of the Hamas-Israel conflict. The method used in this research is qualitative with library study techniques, allowing in-depth analysis of the speech material. The main findings of this research show that Abu Ubaidah's speech contains four types of illocutionary speech acts, namely assertive, directive, commissive and expressive. Examples of assertive speech acts include conveying information about war situations, while directive speech acts include praying and giving advice. Promises or oaths represent commissive speech acts, and expressive speech acts include greeting, criticizing, and praising. These results indicate that the speech was designed to not only convey information but also to motivate, inspire, and mobilize listeners. This research emphasizes the urgency of understanding language use in conflict contexts.
Uswah Mujahidah Rasuna Said, Muhammad Jaohar Tsani, Asep Sopian Copyright (c) 2024 El-Tsaqafah : Jurnal Jurusan PBA https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/10051 Fri, 06 Dec 2024 00:00:00 +0000 IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA BELAJAR DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL https://journal.uinmataram.ac.id/index.php/eltsaqafah/article/view/11712
This study aims to identify and analyze the implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka) from the aspects of planning, execution, and evaluation in Indonesian language learning based on local wisdom, as applied at SMP Negeri 1 Bayan.
